I have been meaning to do this forever and this past weekend I finally put aside a couple of hours to complete the project. It is so simple and I think such a lovely personal touch to your home.
My suggestion when taking your photos to work from, is to position yourself and/or your models in front of a bright window. Afterward you just adjust the darkness of your photo in your photo editing program and vuala! Trace your profile onto canvas and paint inside the traced area or paint in the negative space, like I did:)

Oh my gosh, these are brilliant, & yours are gorgeous! You could totally do custom orders of these for profit. I wuld buy them! Mostly because I don't trust myself to do it on my own... :)
